Product Marketing Leader
Drive the full spectrum of product marketing including positioning, packaging, pricing, messaging, product launches, content and demand generation strategy.
We are building Redpanda, a real-time streaming engine for modern applications. Redpanda is used by Fortune 1000 enterprises pushing hundreds of terabytes a day, and by the solo dev prototyping a React application on her laptop. We go beyond the Kafka protocol into the future of streaming, with inline WASM transforms and geo-replicated hierarchical storage. Think of it as a data API platform that scales with you from the smallest projects to petabytes of data distributed across the globe. We are on a mission to enable every developer to supercharge their real time applications.
In this role, we’re looking for an analytical product marketer to found the product marketing function for Vectorized. Reporting to VP Marketing, you will be the first PMM hire, and own the full-spectrum of product marketing tasks including positioning, packaging, pricing, messaging, product launches, content strategy and demand generation strategy.
Develop and maintain the messaging framework, analyze and iterate with internal and external feedback.
Drive the launch of new features and lead the development of related content including blogs, decks, press materials, analyst updates and sales training.
Plan, coordinate and deliver sales enablement for key business initiatives, and support sales with decks, collateral and content as necessary.
Lead pricing and packaging efforts in collaboration with stakeholders in product and sales organizations.
Analyze customer segments, identify ICPs and partner with demand generation to execute campaigns and messaging for each segment, monitor metrics and iterate.
Build and maintain customer segmentation, references, vertical messaging and ROI calculators to communicate Redpanda’s value proposition.
Lead quarterly AR and PR efforts to generate awareness in support of our lead generation activities.
Recruit and mentor a team of world class product marketers to keep pace with business growth.
Passion for helping building a business from ground up, with willingness to experiment, and a metrics-driven mindset. 8+ years as a product marketer for cloud infrastructure products, with hands-on experience in open source-lead SaaS business models.
Expertise in developing messaging frameworks, campaigns and content targeted at software architects, developers and devops teams.
Experience with developing packaging strategies for complex developer-centric or infrastructure solutions and multi-axis pricing.
Proven experience in managing successful SaaS product launches, and relevant activities and content for blogs, press and analyst relations.
Experience in streaming infrastructure across transactional and analytical workloads, or the interest, technical background and aptitude to learn.
Hands-on experience in executing all aspects of sales enablement, including competitive positioning, release training, deal support etc.
Proficiency with SaaS analytics, and ability to define, collect and analyze metrics hands-on to guide business decisions.
Meticulous project management, and ability coordinate across teams with an eye for details, and schedules, and empathy to operate in remote-first environments
Proficiency in written and spoken English, with a command of grammar, and constructs for technical writing for blogs, articles, web copy etc.
Resourcefulness, curiosity, keen sense for web/graphics design, communication skills and the emotional intelligence to excel in distributed startup environments.
Bonus points for public speaking experience and desire to present in small and large groups, meetups and conferences
Computer science degree(s) with an MBA or equivalent experience.
